Recipe Instructions

At home: Put oatmeal flakes in bag, dried fruit and roasted seeds/nuts (not raw) in another. Have brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter/oil in other containers.
Instructions:
1. Melt butter or heat oil in fry pan on medium. Don't burn butter!
2. Add uncooked oats and stir to coat with butter. Add salt to taste (if nuts/seeds aren't salted).
3. Sprinkle in brown sugar (and cinnamon if desired) over top.
4. Cook oats until golden, stirring.
5. Take off heat, then add fruit, seeds, and nuts.

Note:
- Can also make in the front country or before leaving for a trip. This is an alternative to store bought granola.
- If nuts and seeds are untoasted, (i.e., raw) you can fry them with the oatmeal.
- Make gluten free using gluten free oats.
- Make nut free by only adding fruit.
- Make dairy free and vegan by using oil instead of butter.
- Can serve with milk or yogurt and fresh fruit, if in front country.
