Grease a pie iron. Mix potatoes and egg. Add some chopped green onions and bacon; stir in some cheese. Pack potato mixture tightly into one side of your iron. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper. Close the pie iron and set in warm coals until toasted on one side; flip until brown on the other side and heated all the way through. A little sour cream is a nice addition to piping hot potatoes.
