Recipe Instructions

This is a basic baking mix – you can use it for a lot of things. Combine all the ingredients. If you want to save it for later, add a bit of milk pow. But you can also wait, and then use hydrated milk pow to add to the mix when you are ready. Use the milk pow to get a specific texture – thin for pancakes, thick for doughboys, etc… You can add orange slices, bananas, raisins, or similar and fry like pancakes. Bannock is a gaelic term. You can make this and use it for all sorts of instant breads! This one is heavier on the butter – feel free to use less.

Use Bob’s Bannock Mix. Gradually add water until you can shape it, and knead it well into biscuits. Bake.

For the gravy, mix a ratio of 1 TBS fat (i.e. butter) to 1/8 cup flour, cook until yellow/brown, and then add 1 cup broth. Cook and cut up morning star patties into gravy for full effect.
