Troubleshooting and frequently asked questions

Account and access

I didn't get my confirmation email. Check your spam or promotions folder. Then use Resend email on the Check your inbox page, or Didn't receive confirmation instructions? under the login form. You can't log in until your email is confirmed.

I see "Oops! Looks like you do not have access to this plan or subscription has expired". Either your trial or subscription has ended, or (if you're a team member) the account owner hasn't given you permission for that area. Account owners: open Subscription to renew. Team members: ask the account owner.

I'm a team member and I can't see Settings or Subscription. That's expected. Settings and billing belong to the account owner.

My Ingredients or Meal plans cards are locked on the Home page. Add your first recipe. Ingredients and meal plans are built from your recipes.

Recipes

I can't change an ingredient's name or store inside a recipe. Once an ingredient is used in more than one recipe, its name and store are managed on the Ingredients page. That way every recipe stays in step.

I can't change an ingredient to a different kind of unit. Inside a recipe you can switch between units of the same kind, such as pounds to ounces. To move between kinds (for example from cans to pounds), use Update ingredient on the Ingredients page. See Changing an ingredient's name or unit type.

A website recipe won't import. Wholesum reads recipes that the website publishes in a standard recipe format. Some sites don't, so try another link or add the recipe manually.

My Cookbook recipes haven't appeared. They're added in the background. Wait a moment, then refresh My recipes.

Ingredients and costs

My recipe or shopping list cost looks too low. Some ingredients probably don't have a price yet. On Ingredients, click missing a price to find them.

The same ingredient appears twice on my shopping list. You probably have two ingredients with similar names, such as "Yellow Onion" and "Yellow Onions". Use Check for duplicate ingredients on the Ingredients page to merge them. See Finding and merging duplicate ingredients.

Amounts like "7.3 cans" aren't practical. Turn on Ingredient rounding in Settings and choose a Round option for that ingredient. See Ingredient rounding.

Meal plans

Some meals disappeared after I changed the dates. Shortening a plan's date range removes meals on days that are no longer in the plan. Add them back on the new dates, or restore the original dates before saving.

I can't edit or delete a meal plan. It's probably locked. Look for the closed padlock. The account owner can unlock it.

I can't create a second meal plan. The Personal plan allows one meal plan at a time, for up to 15 people. Delete the existing plan, or upgrade to Professional or Enterprise.

The meal plan screen is hard to use on my phone. Meal planning needs a wider screen. Turn your phone sideways, or use a tablet or computer.

I want one shopping list for several groups. Use Pull combined lists on the Meal plans page. See Exporting shopping lists and meal plans (PDF, Word and Excel).

Olive AI

Olive says it's available on Enterprise plans. Your account has used its free Olive allowance, or doesn't have an active plan. Upgrade to Enterprise for unlimited Olive.

Olive says it took too long, or is busy. Try again in a minute. Requests that fail don't use your allowance.

Olive's numbers don't look right. Olive's drafts are a starting point. Always check quantities, units and dietary information before you save.
