Bring water to a full boil in a large pot. Remove from heat.
Add coarse ground coffee directly to the pot — about 1 tablespoon per cup of water. Stir once and let steep for 4 minutes.
Allow grounds to settle to the bottom. Pour gently into mugs, leaving the last inch of coffee in the pot to avoid the grounds.
Serve with sugar and creamer.
Alternative: Use a camp percolator or pour-over method with a clean cloth filter if preferred.
