Recipe Instructions

Slice summer sausage into thin rounds. Slice or grate cheese. Lay a tortilla flat and cover one half with sausage and cheese. Fold in half and press down. Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook quesadilla 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted. Cut in half and serve with salsa. A step up from plain grilled cheese and a much more satisfying trail lunch. Note: Use Cheddar Cheese Powder as the substitute for trips longer than 4 days or in hot weather.
