RECOMMENDED: Soak cereal in 16 cups cold water the night before — cuts morning cook time to 10–15 minutes. Day-of method: bring milk powder and 16 cups water to a boil, add cereal, reduce to low and simmer 45 minutes, stirring frequently. Either way, stir in fruit, cinnamon, and brown sugar in the last 10 minutes. Ratio: 1 cup cereal to 4 cups water.
