Recipe Instructions

Scaling Note: Adjust rice, vegetables, chorizo, and egg powder based on the number of servings. Rehydrate ingredients using the liquid amounts recommended on their packaging.

Rehydrate dried vegetables with boiling water and let stand until tender, then drain. Prepare instant rice according to package directions. Heat the chorizo in a pot, then prepare the egg powder according to package directions and scramble with the chorizo.

Build your bowl with rice, chorizo, scrambled eggs, and vegetables. Finish with soy sauce, sesame oil, and gochujang.

A bold, Korean-inspired trail meal that brings big flavor to the backcountry. Packets of gochujang are easy to find at many Asian grocery stores and some outdoor retailers.
