Scaling Note: For every 2 hand pies, use approximately 2 tablespoons butter powder mixed with 1 tablespoon water to create a spreadable butter paste. Adjust the tortillas and nut-honey filling based on the number of servings needed.
Make Before Trip: Mix the nuts with honey and cinnamon. Combine the butter powder and water to create a paste. Brush the butter mixture onto a tortilla, then add a spoonful of the nut-honey filling to the center. Fold the tortilla over and press the edges to seal.
Cook the hand pie in a dry pan until golden on both sides. Let cool completely, then wrap in foil for packing.
A sweet, trail-friendly pastry inspired by baklava that holds up for 2–3 days in a pack.
