Recipe Instructions

PRE-TRIP PREP: None required.

ON THE RIVER: Heat condensed tomato soup in a pot with equal parts milk; stir until smooth and heated through. Keep warm on a low burner. Meanwhile, butter outside of bread slices. Layer ham and two cheese slices per sandwich. Cook on a camp griddle or skillet over medium heat, pressing gently, 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted. Serve with sliced tomato and avocado on the side and a cup of warm soup.
